I would love to see something specifically addressing moms of color of mothers of children of color with regard to events that may celebrate cultural diversity, how to make your children feel included when they may be the only one noticeably different.
I’m a big fan of the sample classes – music, art, science, gym. It’s a great way for us both to have a new experience!
I like the idea about activities for children of color or that encourages cultural diversity. My favorite activity this year was the expectant moms event (where they shared secrets for new moms and had several vendors around). Now that i have the baby I look forward to attending some of the new moms activities.
-toddler playdate get togethers at a play space
-opportunities to volunteer with your toddler
I would love more activities/ worshops for moms of more than one child!
i would love to see more about ways of setting up a schedule with newborns involving both feeding and sleeping times. also about feeding toddlers – a group of moms getting together and sharing their kids’ favorite meals including vegetarian, dairy-free, and other exceptions – an all-encompassing idea sharing session (we should bring photocopies of recipes).
Would love to see more preschool info options again. Mainly structuring of a timetable for Moms (when to research schools, when to apply, etc. And a guide(s) for schools.
I have loved the expectant and new Moms lunches. Mostly for meeting other Moms and also the raffles are fun and the info helpful. All guests have been patient and hung around for questions.
I really enjoyed the infant lunches on sleep, introducing solid foods (with Ivy) and traveling with baby. My son is 16 months now but all of the lunches I attended when he was 2-4 months were amazing just because they got us out of the house and in the company of other new Mom’s who knew exactly what I was going through.
I would love to see a toddler lunch/recipe swap as suggested by someone else.
ii’d love to see events to which i could bring my infant and my toddler
I would love to see a workshop on creativity and motherhood for writers, artists and others in creative fields.I have been researching this and started a new group MOMTRA (artmoms backwards), please let me know if I can help.
The Second workshop I would love to see would be devoted to love/sex….perhaps a psychologist to how to reconnect after baby is born, a sex therapist -(how to really do a Kegal), sex toys, romance ideas, etc…
I would love to have an event about postpartum depression with information about local professionals that deal with the topic. I would also like to have events about parenting a child with special needs/developmental issues with information about EI program, local providers of OT, speech therapy etc.
My favorite event was a luncheon where fashion and birth control were the main topics.
I’d love to see more offering about working moms and balancing career, family and me-time. Also, the sample classes are just awesome! Thanks BB
