Amazon.com is the best! The reviews are informative, and there is a large selection of baby items.

PLUS, the amazon.com baby registry allows you to add items from other, external sites, which is great. It allows you to have a central registry.

Jen Posted on August 26, 2009 at 3:38 pm

I love love love diapers.com of all sites!! They always have what I need, a rather derby “green” baby section and, best of all, I get my order the very next day! I find the prices to be fair andrhey always have a killer sale on diapers, wipes, food, etc.
I also love giggle.com. Though not a value, I really like they’re selection and web design.
As for message boards, I’m a fan on the yahoo groups–Bay Ridge Parents, Bococa Parents, Bk hgts parents and the newer Brooklyn Parents (an alternative to the fee-driven PSP). I’m also a fan of A Child Grows in Brooklyn (the site has been down due to a spring hacking) and I’m loving the new babybitesonline site!

I have two favorite web sites. One for big ticket, little used, baby items is, Craigs List. I bought most of my babies larger toys at a fraction of the price on Craig’s List.

The other site I love is Mini Social.com They have great children’s online sample sales; usually clothing but sometimes bedding, toys, etc.

For diapers, it’s diapers.com. For toys and other stuff, it’s Amazon.com. Helpful message boards are babycenter.com, babble.com, and yes, every once in a while urbanbaby.com. Hope I win!

12.
Karen Moskow Posted on August 26, 2009 at 3:55 pm

I buy tons of stuff from 1-800-diapers.com. Probably because we lived in the city for so long ,and they delivered! Much easier then dragging those big boxes of diapers home!

And I am addicted to the Hoboken Moms group on Yahoo.. Probably one of the only boards I regulatrly post on.

13.
Cori Posted on August 26, 2009 at 4:17 pm

Diapers.com is the best! You can’t beat free shipping and great prices! I also go to Baby Center for message boards.

14.
Maria Brett Posted on August 26, 2009 at 4:31 pm

mbeans.com is the best. amazon is also pretty awesome!

17.
Jodi Posted on August 26, 2009 at 4:52 pm

I check out urbanbaby message board frequently to post questions. Cant beat diapers.com for good prices. Amazon is good too. But I usually go to various littler sites for clothing or specialty things like minisocial.com, chicbaby.com

18.
Nicole Posted on August 26, 2009 at 5:12 pm

Diapers.com and amazon.com for everything! Citymommy’s message board is great.

Diapers.com, Drugstore.com
citymommy.com, mary poppins

22.
Mariann Bloor Posted on August 26, 2009 at 5:41 pm

I love onestepahead.com, diapers.com and believe it or not pampers.com – very informative and not snarky like some of the message boards you see.

23.
Christine Posted on August 26, 2009 at 5:49 pm

For product reviews and shopping, I look at Target and Amazon, and I used to use BabyCenter until they dropped their on-line shopping. Diapers.com has expanded in this area, with lots of listings. It’s easy to get to free shipping with them ($49+), but I frequently find them out of stock of a lot of things lately.

For message boards, my favorite is UrbanBaby, although you need to be prepared for the sarcasm and mood swings of posters! I tried GothamBaby too but it is way too difficult to navigate. And of course let’s not forget Baby Bites too! I am always directing new parents to it.

24.
Lisa Posted on August 26, 2009 at 5:51 pm

Babycenter.com is the one site that I read weekly. Amazon.com is great for toys. Urbanbaby.com has also been helpful.

25.

Mommy Poppins is good and I do go to time out to see what is happening in the city for kids on a particular day.

27.
Pily Quintanilla Posted on August 26, 2009 at 7:15 pm

diapers.com is great! leaving in NYC and not having a car is soo convenient to buy boxes of diapers and wipes and to know that I will have them the next day without the hazard of been carrying the boxes, plus they have a big selection for all my baby’s needs.
If I want information about classes and what to do with my baby I go to mommy poppins and for message boards to baby center.

28.
Leslie Posted on August 26, 2009 at 7:24 pm

Diapers.com for best bulk prices and free shipping.
Amazon.com Prime membership is so worth it when you don’t have a lot of time to shop around.
Babble.com – love the content, and great product recommendations.

29.
Alisa Greenstein Posted on August 26, 2009 at 7:38 pm

Amazon.com has the best value overall for a variety of different baby products. Diapers.com is definitely the best for diaper specific products.

30.
Paulette Posted on August 26, 2009 at 7:41 pm

For message boards, I go to City Mommy

I use Amazon and Drugstore.com. They have great prices and it’s easy to track, cancel , and review orders… free shipping is always nice!

For message boards I use Urban Baby, Baby Center, and Meet up.com .

Meetup is a great place to look for playgroup “meet ups” and most have a daily email message board.

35.
Monica Posted on August 26, 2009 at 9:09 pm

I have to give a shameless plug for http://www.manhattan-east-side.macaronikid.com/. It’s a free weekly e-newsletter and website with fantastic reviews and listings of all the best kid-friendly events going on in NYC every week!
I also love diapers.com and Barnes & Nobles’ website for baby/toddler products – they have very decent prices. I’m also a big fan of coolmompicks.com and strollertraffic.com for info on new/fun products.

36.
Janet Lo Posted on August 26, 2009 at 9:37 pm

Antonella Kauffman Posted on August 26, 2009 at 11:25 pm

I am a huge fan of diapers.com. In addition to good prices and fast delivery, they keep expanding their product lines. I also found a lot of great products in their “Green Baby” section that would have otherwise taken me much longer to discover, if ever. For toys and books however, I still use Amazon.com. For clothing I usually shop at Ralphlauren.com, gymboree.com, gap.com and childrensplace.com each season. For information, I like Babycenter.com and when I was breastfeeding Kellymom.com was amazing.

39.
Elenna Dunham Posted on August 27, 2009 at 12:42 am

Zwaggle.com Everything from NWT baby Dior outfits to gently used exersaucers and a great place to freecycle your own stuff. Genius!

40.
Rhiannon Posted on August 27, 2009 at 8:56 am

Well of course baby bites! BabyCenter as lots have already said because they send useful, relevant content based on your stage of development (pregnancy through your child growing up) although I think their Q&A section could use some work.

Diapers.com is so great in the city for big value boxes of diapers especially since they deliver for free the next day (if you order by 6pm) over $49.

41.
Amanda Posted on August 27, 2009 at 9:25 am

Love the Berkeley Parents network message boards. I find Amazon.com has the best prices on Pampers with their subscribe and save program and delivery is free in 1-2 days. Baby Cheapskate blog is great and so is Mommy Poppins!

42.
Courtney Groome Posted on August 27, 2009 at 9:51 am

I enjoy reading Crib Notes http://www.cribnotesbaby.com and Cafe Mom Digest http://www.cafemom.com where you can choose your group by your child’s birthdate–lot’s of good advice from moms going through the same stages as you. Thanks, Courtney

I love Amazon for the product reviews and urbanbaby or kellymom for baby help and tips!

49.
Rachel F. Posted on August 28, 2009 at 9:35 pm

For baby/kid products, I end up using amazon.com often because it is really good at aggregating the products available from many diff. vendors. For “green” stuff, I just ordered some kids sigg water bottles off nubiusorganics.com. Very cool site.

Urbanbaby is pretty much the only message board I have ever used, sparingly.

56.
ellie Posted on August 30, 2009 at 8:28 pm

For shopping, onestepahead.com has products you didn’t even know you needed, of course diapers.com, amazonn – where cases of diapers are often cheaper than diapers.com. For bm shopping nothing beats buy buy baby for scale, but their website isn’t great. For info, kellymom.com is a lifesaver (breast-saver?), babycenter, babycheapskate, and i love parenthacks.

57.
tara Posted on August 30, 2009 at 9:19 pm

babycenter.com, target.com & diapers.com are great for shopping. urbanbaby & mommypoppins are good for info, laughs, things to do, etc…

58.
ineabelle mercado Posted on August 30, 2009 at 9:27 pm

I like Babies R US for baby products and i often visit stork net’s pregnancy week by week guide. It’s a good source of information to find out how your baby is developing and new symptoms that the mom to be may be feeling. the website is http://www.pregnancyguideonline.com/wk24.htm

I am a big fan of craigslist. Also, when you are looking for a specific product, ebay has some great deals.

60.
nicole Posted on August 31, 2009 at 8:34 am

As a bargain shopper, I’m a huge fan of craigslist and freecycle.org; when I’m in the market for a new product, Amazon.com and Diapers.com is great.

While I don’t often frequent message boards, I do get inspiration from

http://www.saradeboer.com

It’s a funny, sweet, well written blog by a mom for moms and other interested folks!

61.
Allison Posted on August 31, 2009 at 8:53 am

Babycenter.com is great for all the advice and developmental growth excerpts. Once you become a pro and past the baby stage, it’s good to have resources like emails updates from babybites, NY Family Magazine, etc.

62.

I agree with those who said BabyCenter. Love that siite when it comes to any/all baby-related info (they have great info and are usually extremely up-to-date re. the latest ‘news’ about baby-related health issues, product recalls, vaccine concerns, and developmental milestone ‘tips’)

Also — MomFinds.com (relatively new and relevant to all of us moms) and Mamalicious (blog includes ‘finds’ and tips).

68.
Danielle Posted on August 31, 2009 at 2:02 pm

Like other moms, I like amazon.com for reviews since you get the benefit of large populations commenting on one item across multiple age groups. Parenting.com great for general advice, game ideas and more. MommyTrakd.com for funny tips on ‘Managing the Chaos of Modern Motherhood.’

My new fave is http://www.IncrediBundles.com. They’re my go-to site for cool baby gifts, they do a hip version of the baby gift basket, except they fill these cute boxes with toys and books. They have free shipping (I will NOT buy online without that) and if you add up the cost of all the stuff they give, it’s always cheaper than if I bought it all myself and put it together. I wish people had sent me these when I was pregnant. Both times I got all these teeny tiny clothes that my 8.5 lb babies never fit into…. http://www.babycenter.com is also really good about posting sweepstakes and specials….
