Dylan’s candy bar is the best place for birthday parties but its expensive so I wouldnt have a party there until the child can really enjoy and appreciate it!!
NY Kids Club – Super easy and very well organized.
White Post Farms located in Melville NY is definitely the way to go!!!!!
I believe the Gymboree is a great place to have a birthday celebration. Aside from Dave and Busters it depends on the age group.
KidsU in Pleasantville, NY does a great party.
We’ve had birthday parties at Moonsoup and MyGym (East Side) and both were fantastic. Have also been to great parties at the Central Park Zoo. Dylan’s Candy Bar is nice — kids really seemed to enjoy the cookie decorating — but the room is a bit too small .
The New York City Fire Museum in Soho. The best party I could have thrown for a 4 year old boy. Everyone loved. The got to wear fire helmets, meet the Fire Chief, see old Firetrucks and much more. Everyone still talks about it. Great Memories.
City Treehouse in NYC on West 20th!
Jodi’s Gym on the Upper East side or in Westchester does a great job!
NYSC East 93rd Street, MyGYM E. 60th Street, Central Park Picnic, Patsy’s upstairs E 60th, Delizia Pizza 1st and 73rd Street
WE had 3 years of parties at MY GYM on west 68th. But we went to a fantastic one at Elite Gymnastics in Tribeca. It was AWESOME!
Ny Kids Club.
I had my daughter’s first birthday party at The Little Gym above Fairway…it was so easy and convenient, and it’s so open and bright…highly suggest it!
Make on the upper east side for pottery and painting.
CENTRAL PARK – park permits are only $25!
For Manhattan, Serendepity or Citibabes.
For Brooklyn, the Moxie Spot on Atlantic Ave.
Chelsea Piers.
The fire museum downtown is great.
Also nothing beats an old-fashioned apartment party with the amazing Looney Louie as the entertainment!
Dylans Candy Bar!! FAO Schwartz, Central Park, and your favorite local gym!
The NY Botanical Gardens
The Intrepid
Asphalt Green! Of course, I’m the director of marketing at Asphalt Green, so I’m a bit biased. But swimming parties, soccer parties, gymnastics parties, martial arts parties…we’ve got a lot of options that keep the kids active and engaged. And they’re a whole lot cooler than the parties I had when I was a kid!
We had our daughter’s 1st birthday party at Rhinelander. We rented the space for less then 300 dollars for 2.5 hours. The space is great-two rooms plus an area to store stuff and stroller parking. The staff helped with moving tables. We brought in pizza, soda, cake and hired Rockin with Andy. IThere was plenty of space and everyone had a great time. We’re thinking of doing the same thing for the 2nd!
Central Park Carousel for summer birthdays.
Sportts Club LA-UES does a great job!
bouncers and slydos on Long Island
Dylan’s candy bar and sports club/la in the upper east side!
Discvovery Programs on the UWS.
Big Daddy’s DIner is fun
fabio’s hair studio in bronxville!
Dylan’s Candy Bar
NY Kids Club
my gym east side, white post farm, gymboree, orly’s treehouse, ny kids club
children museums
92nd Street Y – they are so helpful and make it so easy for the parents.
Kidville
The roller rink at Riverbank State Park at 145th Street and the Hudson River (A,B,C,D, 1, or 9 to 145th and then a walk or crosstown bus directly into the park). It’s only a few dollars per kid for rink time and skate rentals. They let you bring in your own food and allocate you a dedicated seating area. Afterwards, check out the complex’s sports fields, playground and swimming pool. (Plus awesome views of the GW bridge and Hudson river). It’s a wonderful budget-conscious party spot.
KIdsU in Paramus, NJ is really good. So is the NJ Children’s Museum in Paramus, though best for under 5 years old.
The local playground or park is always a cheap and cheerful alternative.
Party at the Scholastic Store!

We had our daughter’s 1st birthday party at apple seeds and it was fantastic!
I love musical shows!
