Dylan’s candy bar is the best place for birthday parties but its expensive so I wouldnt have a party there until the child can really enjoy and appreciate it!!

I believe the Gymboree is a great place to have a birthday celebration. Aside from Dave and Busters it depends on the age group.

We’ve had birthday parties at Moonsoup and MyGym (East Side) and both were fantastic. Have also been to great parties at the Central Park Zoo. Dylan’s Candy Bar is nice — kids really seemed to enjoy the cookie decorating — but the room is a bit too small .

The New York City Fire Museum in Soho. The best party I could have thrown for a 4 year old boy. Everyone loved. The got to wear fire helmets, meet the Fire Chief, see old Firetrucks and much more. Everyone still talks about it. Great Memories.

Asphalt Green! Of course, I’m the director of marketing at Asphalt Green, so I’m a bit biased. But swimming parties, soccer parties, gymnastics parties, martial arts parties…we’ve got a lot of options that keep the kids active and engaged. And they’re a whole lot cooler than the parties I had when I was a kid!

We had our daughter’s 1st birthday party at Rhinelander. We rented the space for less then 300 dollars for 2.5 hours. The space is great-two rooms plus an area to store stuff and stroller parking. The staff helped with moving tables. We brought in pizza, soda, cake and hired Rockin with Andy. IThere was plenty of space and everyone had a great time. We’re thinking of doing the same thing for the 2nd!

The roller rink at Riverbank State Park at 145th Street and the Hudson River (A,B,C,D, 1, or 9 to 145th and then a walk or crosstown bus directly into the park). It’s only a few dollars per kid for rink time and skate rentals. They let you bring in your own food and allocate you a dedicated seating area. Afterwards, check out the complex’s sports fields, playground and swimming pool. (Plus awesome views of the GW bridge and Hudson river). It’s a wonderful budget-conscious party spot.

KIdsU in Paramus, NJ is really good. So is the NJ Children’s Museum in Paramus, though best for under 5 years old.
