Two year olds make a lot of mess everywhere they go. So we spend 5 minutes cleaning up together before nap time and bath time. Everything goes into a toy bin or the books shelves and has a place. Once he looses interest in a toy even after it has been removed for a while, I put it into storage for our next child to keep the inventory down. We keep a regular routine, so he knows what to expect which makes it easy to step away to cook, etc. But the key is to do a little each day so nothing becomes overwhelming and a major chore (which I admit I have a few, i.e., the photo projects).

I find being organzied is very hard after working for many years, now retired and caring for a young infant. My best advise is to write down your "to do" list on a calendar daily (either paper, computer or electronic device) and check it frequently to stay on top of things. My next tip would be to develop routines around simple daily tasks: bathing, putting kids to sleep, meal time, making bottles, getting exercise, shopping for food/family items. This will make these things move faster and help one get on with thier day. Also prioritize those items of most importance. And remember to KISS- keep it simple stupid!! Have a great day.

For younger babies, my husband and I make bottles and clean the pumping supplies/bottles every night after dinner. That way I have clean bottles and clean supplies for the next day and don't have to worry about cleaning while I am alone with the baby. Also, I keep about 3 to 4 bottles ready at all times. That way I can feed the baby on the go. I also prepare my diaper bag the night before (restocking diapers and burb cloths). Finally, I buy in bulk from Diapers.com. That way we never run out of wipes, diapers, trash bags, etc.

I keep life simple. I just make sure to keep the diaper bag well stocked with diapers and wipes, and always have a few snacks in the stroller at all times.. but other than that, we just fly by the seat of our pants. It is much less stressful that way. We do a morning activity every day, and then I tidy up the house between drop-off and pick-up at preschool. My boys usually nap at the same time in the afternoon to give me some downtime.

I do keep a digital calendar to record all the important appointments. But I try not to over-schedule the day. I have been blessed with two good, mild-mannered, sweet boys. That is the ONLY way I survive my days. There is a running to-do list on the counter- but having just had my second baby.. unless it says eat or sleep, those things on my to-do list (ie. cook/clean/errands) turn into "Honey-do's" ... thank goodness I have a great husband that doesn't mind lending a helping hand!

I keep a weekly template outlining all baby activities (meals, naps, classes) and all errands/chores I need to take care of for the week.

Blackberry! Also- 100 calorie snack packs are great as well as any other type of prepackaged healthy treats (sliced apples from fresh direct). Get things together the night before so that when the kids are awake you have less to manage. I also like to try and make one dinner for everyone so that I am not always in the kitchen.

I have a list for everything including what goes in the diaper bag and what I ned to take with me every day. I pack the bag the night before and pick out my daughters clothes then as well. I also lay out my clothes and shower at night. I put together outfits for her in the beginning of the week as well as a meal schedule with lunch dinner and snack options and cook as much as I can when she naps. Also, delivery is a huge timesaver. I don't know what I'd do without Diapers.com.
