Hi Laura, I think you did a great job. I had actually never heard of "babybites" and just joined after watching the show! I've always believed in "everything in moderation" and a drink or two now and then is healthy. At the same time, I think it's important to know oneself. A few of the women on the show mentioned that at times they would say "I'm not having a drink today". That right there is a sign there's a problem, because they know that "a" drink will turn into 4+

I believe in social drinks--I remember when I had 2 little kids and drank--I could not take care of them--thought I was going to die at times---I had to give it up and thank God I did--they are in their late 30 and early 40---I am happy to say I was able to raise them when I gave it up! Everyone's body and life is different---just don't drink and drive with your children---I never did! This show---brought back memories---hang in there ladies!

From an X-alcoholic mom, thanks for sharing. Most women who drink in excess do not want to admit it because then they would be faced with making a decision: drink or quit. I went to AA when my daughter confronted me 22 years ago and said: "What's the matter, mom? Why can't you talk to the people who love you?" I did not know at that point that I was lovable. I walked into AA the next day and have been clean and sober every since, one day at a time

I believe in social drinks now!--I remember when I had 2 little kids and drank--I could not take care of them at times. My son would cry wanting me and at times I --thought I was going to die.. I was hospitalized from to much drinking.I can say I lived to tell this story--I had to give up drinking and thank God I did-- My sons are in their late 30 and early 40---I am happy to say I was able to raise them when I gave the drinking up! Everyone's body and life is different---just don't drink and drive with your children---I never did! This show---brought back memories---hang in there ladies. Now my sons are grown, I do have a social glass of wine maybe two times a month. Both my sons are leaders in their jobs! I am proud to say! Thank God I was able to see through the tears of my son---and stop drinking and start being the mom. Hang in their ladies----it is so worth the children verses the alcohol---get a baby sitte and take a break. I am a retired teacher and I should seek some young mom's and be some help to them in times of needing a break..

I don't think mothers should ever drink around their kids...What kind of coping skills does that teach them? Not to mention...What if something happens and you need at act quickly?
I don't even think that adults should drink around kids at parties or events...what if you get drunk and you are not watching your child? Any number of very bad things could happen.
