We are excited to have Hal Runkel as the keynote speaker at this year’s Mommybites Summit on May 19 (for more details, click here). Hal will be speaking to all of our attendees about ScreamFree Parenting and helping family stay calm and connected. Read on to learn more about Hal and find out more ways to connect to ScreamFree Parenting . As always, if you have any specific questions you would like for us to have answered by Hal, please comment below or email us.

Hal Runkel is one of America’s leading expert on family relationships. A therapist, relationship coach, seminar speaker, and organizational consultant, Hal is the founder and president of The ScreamFree Institute, a non-profit organization working to calm the world, one relationship at a time. Hal is the New York Times best-selling author of ScreamFree Parenting and the newly released ScreamFree Marriage. Hal has applied the most advanced approaches to family relationship theory in his practice and developed the revolutionary ScreamFree Living methodology.

Here’s a great video of parents who have been touched by ScreamFree Parenting:

One last thought from Hal: “Scream-free parenting creates moments where they own their own lives. It also creates moments where they make bad decisions, and even though they don’t want to live with the consequences, we have to let them. We let the consequences do the screaming.”

Have you watched one of our webbybites videos yet? If not, come check out our 68 different videos by a variety of parenting experts as they discuss parenting practices, tools and techniques.

Last February, we launched our series of webbybites videos and they have been viewed over 5,500 times since then! These videos are a way for us to introduce hot topics through the insights of top parenting experts in an interactive online forum. webbybites videos address a wide-variety of issues and new ideas targeted to both the babybites and kiddybites audiences.

In addition to the video, each webbybites blog post provides background on the expert and an invitation for our community of parents to engage in meaningful discussion. We encourage you to ask questions of our experts and others, and weigh in with your own opinions and experiences.

So sit back, put your feet up and watch some of our top parenting and education experts anytime you want (or need!) from the comfort of your home. Keep checking back – we will be highlighting a new video each week!

Check out this week’s featured video from last year’s Mommybites Summit. At the Summit we asked each of our speakers to answer three questions (yes, the same three for each one). We wanted to see their take on the journey or parenthood.

This video features Dr. Edward Hallowell answering those questions, with our lovely interviewer Cecily Kellogg:

These skills are derived from the frontal lobe (part of the central nervous system) which isn’t finished developing until adolescence. Dr. Mannis outlines several strategies for children who have difficulty with complicated language or skimming texts, and also touches on how you and your child can determine what type of University might be a good match, based on his or her individual learning style.
